I'm so excited that white dresses are going to in this year! For I have always loved the white lawn dresses of the Edwardian era. For they were so graceful, feminine, romantic, and oh, so, dreamy. :)
You can go several routes for your own "Little White Dress." You can either buy or make your own dress. If you can sew, and love everything old-fashion may I recommend Mrs. Jennie Chancey's 1914 Afternoon Dress pattern (scroll down a bit). I've seen this pattern made both historical and modern. And both ways look lovely! You can see pictures of the historical way here. And a fellow blogger who made it modern over at Dreaming of Avonlea.
If you can't sew and want a more modern take here are some of my recommendations.
Beach Breeze Dress - J. Jill
Pure Jill Hooded Dress - J. Jill
Linen Knot-Front Dress - J. Jill
Valentine Ladies Dress - April Cornell
Chaps Swiss-Dot Dress - Kohls
The Traveler - Shabby Apple
Cap-Sleeve Dress (comes in white) - Newport News
Beda Dress - Anthropologie

Which of these dresses are your favorite? Do you already own your own "Little White Dress"? How do you wear it? Have you found one for a really good deal, share your story.
I myself am planning on sewing my "Little White Dress." Haven't decided on the style yet, any ideas? :-)
