Louis Vuitton 2011 Fall/Winter Collection

(This is an edited picture. For I made the picture more modest.)

Now, I normally don't follow all the fashion designers and their upcoming collections. Except for a few like Ralph Lauren. But when I saw a picture of Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter collection on tumblr, I just fell head-over-heels-in-love with their 1950s inspired collection. And now I am doing my first designer post. Though I warn you, you are just going to get just a bunch of pictures. =)

Not only is Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter collection vintage inspired, but it features some pieces that are modest! How exciting! Even though many of us can't buy a thing from the collection, we can drool. =)

 1. Black wool pin-stripe top and circle skirt. 2. Stretch wool pinstripe top. Wrap print faille back knot skirt.

3. Wool pinstrip fitted blazer, wool pinstripe top, thick wool pinstripe circle skirt. 4. Print wool chiffon layer dress.

 5. Wool coating double-breasted coat, thick wool top, check wool plaid skirt. 6. Feather filled organza corset dress.

7. Sequined cashmere embroidered knit top, bonded leather skirt. 8. Stretch Cashmere long sleeve knit top, check wool plaid skirt.

There are many more outfits on their site. =) So, which ones are your favorite? Mine would have to be, 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8. =)

I also created a set on polyvore of my interpretation of their collection.  =)

Ring Watches a wonderful invention!

First let me "start at the very beginning." ;-) Several weeks ago, my sisters and I were talking to a good friend at church. As it was before Sunday school we were wondering, after talking for awhile, what the time was. Alas, none of us was were wearing a watch, not even me with my watch necklace (which I love to pieces).  So we said, 'that there should be watches on rings! But not chunky, they should be pretty and unique.' (not our exact words, but close enough.) =)

Fast forward to this morning. I was looking at my blog reading list when, lo, and behold, what's this? A ring watch! Someone was wearing a ring watch! I eagerly went on a frantic (alright, maybe not frantic.) Google search, to see where I could acquire one for myself. The best place I have found so far. One word, Amazon.

Amazon has some amazing ring watches! Let me share with you all my favorites.

What do you think of the ring watches? Which one is your favorite? Do you own one yourself?

Fun Vintage Inspiration for Spring

While browsing through Vintage Textile yesterday, I found some lovely inspiration.

First off, these adorable polka-dot heels from the 1938! How cute are they!

Another great find is this late 1920s silk day dress. So bouncy and springy.

Looking through Vintage Textiles, what are your favorites? If you like, you can narrow it down to the 1920s to 1930s. ;-)

Ann Taylor

I have loved the clothes at Ann Taylor for several years now. Even though I don't own any of their pieces. My size is usually sold out by the time it is marked down to the clearance racks. (Their clothing is quite pricey.) :p But I still love gazing at the clothing and getting sewing inspiration. =)

What I like about Ann Taylor is how their clothes are classic, yet with a mix of trendy pieces. They also have some that are quite modest. Hurray!

Here are a few of my favorite outfits from Ann Taylor that I put together on polyvore.

The Boyfriend Cardigan in the Edwardian Era?

Yes, folks you have read that right. I was browsing through this website, when I stumbled across some cardigans that look like the popular boyfriend cardigans of today.

Cath Kidston - Spring/Summer Inspiration

Some how I stumbled upon Cath Kidston last year (online)...and fell right in love with her designs. They have such a vintage/whimsy feel about them...almost picture book like. I had hope to visit one of her stores while I was in London last Fall, but I just didn't find the time. Maybe next time. ;)

Here is what is inspiring me from their spring/summer collection.

I LOVE this jean skirt and would love to make one just like it.

How about these cherry red polka-dot wellies? Aren't they just darling? I love them!

This would be fun to recreate. Though, I don't know where I would find badges for different UK sites. :)
How cute are these vintage(y) hair-bows? And they come in three vintage colors.

If you didn't know already, I love polka-dots! Like this dress. And look, it also comes with a matching polka-dot belt!

What about you? What are your favorites? Or is Cath Kidston not your style? =)

Wellies....a new found love

I have come to love the look wellies. In fact, I found a pair I would love to buy at Target. They are a part of the Liberty of London collection.

Liberty of London at Target  (the pair I love)

Dots Spots - Target

Allison Floral - Target

Zaney Polka Dot - Target

Mod Dot - Target

Not sure how to wear wellies? Look at these two pictures I found.

Looks like you just wear them with your normal clothes. :)

What's Inspiring Me - Mary Tyler Moore (1960s)

For the past two months I have been wanting Mary Tyler Moore's wardrobe in the Dick Van Dyke Show.

Look I even made my Valentines dress out of a 1964 pattern. :)

I also love her hair in the flip hairstyle. I want to do it to my hair. But, I think my hair is too long. :) Anyone have tips on how to do the flip?

I think I need to pull out my 1960s patterns and sew me some Laura Petrie inspired clothing. What do you think? ;)
