Ingrid Bergman - Casablanca (1942)

What can I say? I came down sick over Thanksgiving week-end. So, I decided to watch Casablanca for the first time. And I fell in love with Ingrid Bergman's clothes! :D And Ingrid looks just gorgeous in this film with her long hair! I have only seen her in two other films, Bells of St. Mary's and The Inn of Six Happiness, both of which she has short hair. Though, I must say, she has looked lovely in each film.

I also put together a Casablanca inspired set on Polyvore, right after I finished watching the movie. :P  What can I say? I was inspired! :) And I really like the song, As Time Goes By right now.

"As Time Goes By"

What about you? What is your favorite Ingrid Bergman film? Or, Humphrey Bogart, for that mater? :)

I just want to wish you all a.....

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

"Come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
For the Lord is a great God,
a great King above all gods.
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth
      and the mightiest mountains.
The sea belongs to him, for he made it.
His hands formed the dry land, too.
Come, let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,
     for he is our God.
We are the people he watches over,
the flock under his care...." (Psalm 95: 1-7)

Inspiration from the Victorian Trading Co.

I was just browsing through the Victorian Trading Co. website the other day, and I discovered some lovely pieces! Even if they are very expensive, it is still a great site to get inspiration! :)

September Sonnet Blouse - Appearing to be a a two piece ensemble, this ruffled confection is a singular entity. I just love this blouse! It is so sweet and lady like.

Sweet Soho Shirt - Vintage lace meets tie-dye. Romantic elements flirt with bohemian trendiness and the end result: pretty. Softest cotton and lace. An unusual but cute top. I like it. :)

Embroidered Bed Jacket - Kitten-soft brushed fleece is sewn into a sweet cover-up and embroidered with pastel satin ribbons... for reading in bed, trips to the kitchen for midnight cravings, or modesty with house guests. Especially appreciated by the convalescent and popular over tank tops with jeans. A sweet little jacket.

Peaches & Cream Dress - A wispy chemise dress overlays an underslip with scalloped detail at neck that peeks demurely through the delicate embroidery. An adorable and sweet little dress.

Juliet Dress - A baroque motif is rendered in embroidery upon the bodice of a high-waisted dress. Sewn of an ethereal chiffon that is dyed a ruddy cantaloupe hue. For when ever you want to be Juliet from "Romeo and Juliet", or any other Renaissance lady.

Riviera Robe - A pristine cotton wrap is as airy as a June breeze. Pretty bell sleeves and side tie will encompass you with soft coolness after a shower, or swim. Wouldn't this be lovely to wear in the morning with a cup of tea and a good book?

Tasha Polizzi Bomber Jacket - Amelia Earhart would envy this flounce-sleeved leather jacket that takes this classic to a prettier place. Buttery-soft, distressed leather implies a strongwilled woman with a soft side as well. A cute, feminine leather jacket.

Poetic Pea Coat - The doublebreasted classic takes a pretty turn with romantic styling.  A lovely romantic style pea coat.

Fanciful Slippers ...for padding around the house on restful evenings when candles replace the sunlight.  Aren't these the cutest things you ever saw?!? I LOVE them! :)

Mocha Latte Dress - A subtle infusion of raspberry within the pale java hue marries with cream colored details that are ultimately beguiling. Isn't this dress a dream? So, creamy and lovely! Ah! :)

If you would like to see more lovely things, may I recommend that you check out the actual site, http://www.victoriantradingco.com/

Please Pardon the Dust....

"Anna" - My new formal finished!

Yesterday afternoon I finished "Anna" just in time for the banquet that evening. :-)

::Inspiration::

::My Version::

I used M5882 for the bodice and just drafted my own pattern for the cumberband (sash) and circle skirt.

The dress went together pretty well. I'm just wondering on why, oh why, I keep doing very full circle skirts on all of my formals! I keep saying I won't do another one as I don't like hemming the full skirt. :-) I think, I keep doing it because the full circle skirt flatters me. ;)

What I'm  Wearing:

"Anna" - made by me. ;)
Cameo necklace - from Portobello Road, London
Bracelet  - from Amanda
White Sweater - IZOD
Black Wedges - Xhilaration from Target
*not pictured* Black "clutch" - given to me
