Graduation Presents I

The season for graduation has arrived again, and for some people, this means the end of an era and the beginning of another stage in their lives. It is the custom tocommemorate this special event with a gift. But the usual photoframes and such are so old and not exactly the ideal gift. Here are a few of our ideas of the perfect graduation gifts we would like to recieve:

Ok, lets start with the classics. And what can be more timeless then a watch? Now that they're entering a new stage in their life, upgrade from the plastic watches with a more elegant looking silver band. Like this pink (or is it purple?) Swatch watch or even better yet- this very classical Cartier watch.

Record this special time in their lives with a digital camera, such as my personal favourite- a Canon Powershot 500.

And if they don't have one already, you simply MUST get them an ipod. If you are not sure about which color to get, play it safe and get the silver. They can always change the color with different colored cases!

Everyone needs a bag that they can take everywhere. And what better then this timeless black Vuitton bag that can be worn as a clutch or a shoulder bag. It will match any outfit and is perfect for any occasion, from out for the day to a formal ball.

A new stage in your life deserves a new fagrance. I am loving this sexy, fruity and sophisticated fragrance Baby Doll by YSL.

And we've saved the best for last. The ultimate perfect gift we would like to recieve for graduation, would be our very own Mercedes Convertible!

There's something for everyone. Get them something memorable and meaningly to celebrate their special day or if YOU are the one graduating. . well give them a hint and forward them this blog! LOL ;)

America's Next Top Model: Naima

So after so many weeks of elimination, Naima finally won America's Next Top Model Cycle 4.

Its all well and good really. She is pretty enough, takes cool photos and has an edgy enough personality. Plus she has a great attitude to modelling. I was particularly impressed by her attitude against that terrible photographer who terrified and broke everyone else down. But personally I find her winning just so incredibly boring and predictable. She's exactly like all the other ANTM's before her and she's the audience's favourite for ten running weeks. And her final performance on the catwalk, I thought she tried too hard. Her poses were so vigorous, it looked like she was being shot.

Secretly despite all the odds, I kept on hoping that Kahlen, the runner up, would win. Now THAT would have been a good twist and much more exciting. I think Kahlen is an incredibly sweet and innocent girl and I really like her. I can really feel for her. Naimi on the other hand just appeared SO typical that it just felt incredibly fake. This girl overcame her shyness and was darn geniune! PLUS she had consistent performance throughout and takes incredibly beautiful pictures too! She's definitley more loveable!

Keenyah was the third finalist. And I'm glad that she was eliminated when they did. This girl is just too much. I know that competitiveness is needed in this competition, but she goes to the point that it becomes bitchy and turns the audience against her. Does she not know what subtlety is?

Overall it was another interesting season. It does get a bit repetitive, but the thing I love most about the show is that each time, these ordinary girls gets transformed and take amazing pictures. And of course, I LOVE the fashion!

The OC Fashion Finale

Tonight is THE night to stay home. Its the season finale of the OC! And who can wait? Not only is the season getting ever more exciting but the fashion is getting better than ever! Here are some of the hottest looks the fabulous people of the OC wear in their day to day life:

Marissa, casually hanging out at home, probably pondering about Ryan again, in a very cute Petro Zillia top.

Kirsten in a more subtler and older version of of Marissa's top by Diane von Furstenburg.

Marissa looking too cool for school, in a very chic Ingwa Melero tweed jacket. I LOVE this outfit!

Marissa pretending to listen to Summer talk about her love life while thinking about Ryan, in a trendy Trina Turk boho top and Dior rasta messenger bag.

I cannot resist but throw in some male fashion. ALL guys should own a Lacoste polo and loook as good as Zac in it!

Julie at work, putting on her "Julie Cooper Nickle" face in a stylish and sleek BCBG blazer.

Summer selling her shoe off in her spare time, wearing a gorgeous Rebecca Taylor cardigan.

And ofcourse, one must not forget PROM- the OC way. First there is Summer, living every girl's dream as the prom queen, in a "magenta" Givenchy dress.

Then, there is our personal favourite-Marissa's very well put together, very elegant white BCBG (the BEST dress brand ever!)dress with Chanel pearls. As Harrods Girl puts it, "Is absolutely PUUUUUURFECT." And I agree, there are clearly no better words for it.

I am SO excited about the finale tonight, it promises to be full of exciting drama and ofcourse, even more fashion! Sigh, if only Neiman Marcus would supply ME with such a neverending supply of beautiful clothes. . .

Fashion Geometry

While I was staring at the fashion runways of this season- geometric designs just jumped out at me from every direction! And I swear I am not hullicinating from too much maths, here's my proof:
Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com
Geometric designs: skirt by Prada and dress by its sister brand, Miu Miu.
Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com
Shapes of Geometry: Circles on the Vuitton skirt and diamond squares on the Dior dress.
Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com
Repeating Units: On the Marc Jacob jacket and the Philosophy by Alberta Ferreti skirt.

There! And who can blame them? Geometric designs are just so funky and retro on clothes-and this is especially true for those really out there outfits from Prada and Miu Miu. And at the same time they can be SO classical too- more specfically those diamond squared patterns- why else would they come up with a whole name of its own for it-plaid. Anywho, here are some of our picks for this trend:

This geometrically designed set by Valentino-but just because we're showing it in a set does NOT mean u should wear the whole set together. That might just be a tinsy bit too much. . .

A very pretty plaid skirt perfect for a picnic by Anthropologie.

And I absolutely LOVE these bermuda shorts from Trina Turk. They are just soooo cute! So you see, geometry is not just about maths!

The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants

I just went to a sneak preview of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and it was awesome! Based on Ann Brashares' The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants book series, it is a story about friendship, love and growing up. The perfect combination for a light summer chick flick!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Starring Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn, Blake Lively and America Ferrera, this story is about how these girls found an pair of Levi's in a thrift store that magically fits all of them. And trust me-they have vastly different body types!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

They decided to share these jeans amongst them during the summer all over the globe. And things happens when wearing these jeans. It first goes to Greek with Lena where she falls into the sea and nearly drowns- back home to Maryland bringing Tibby together with the most unexpected person- to Virginia where Carmen confronts her father-and finally to a soccer camp in Mexico with Bridget whose determined to get what she wants!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

While it may be supremely sappy and cheesy at times, their friendship is heart warming. I am completely jealous. If only there really is a pair of Levi's that would fit all me and my friends-esp when they look as hot as that!! I can go on and on about this, but I don't want to ruin it for you. Go find out for yourself when it comes out in the cinema June 1-and report back!

Amusement Park Fashion

So last weekend I finally did something that was NOT going downtown and shopping. I woke up at 7am on Saturday and went to Six Flags! The night before, I was trying to decide what to wear to an amusement park and realised that I had no idea! So the next day, while waiting in the many lines one finds in an amusement park, I observed the fashion and came to this conclusion: amusement park fashion is practical, casual and photogenic.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Take center stage when taking group pictures in a bright colored tee (i.e. yellow as in one of the "it" colors this season). And what better then THE Ralph Lauren Skinny Polo that comes in a gazillion different beautiful bright colors?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
But if THAT seems too formal and too hot for an amusement park, try these contrasting colored embroidered tanks from Urban Outfitters. Incidently this is also perfect for matching with the very colorful skirts you bought this season. I see a lot of girls on campus wearing tanks with their skirts. In fact, I bought a yellow and orange one myself recently for $9.90 on sale at UO!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
To be prepared for all weathers, bring along a cute hoodie. Like this Angel hoodie by Juicy Couture. They do make very bright and very nice hoodies afterall.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Pair these up with a pair of dark denim jeans, like these very sexy Seven's. Incidently, I just saw these the other day at Nordstrom on sale for $99.90. If only I was a size 24 or 28. . .

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
As tempting as it is to wear flips flops and sandals in such nice spring weather, DO NOT do so to an amusement park. Because you will just end up having very dirty and disgusting feet having to take them off for all the rides-EEEW. So wear actual shoes! But keep your cool with these Pumas that are half shoes half sandals.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Protect yourself from the UV with this Abercrombie cap. Apart from looking cool and protection, you have the extra bonus of having tidy hair after rides-unlike those messy windblown hair you see on people getting off the Deja Vu!
